If magpies are at work in your club - try not to attract them with anything too fancy, or alternatively have a kicker system that you can remove after each time you go sailing.
I agree with the previous comments that cascades are particularly good but systems involving levers, drums etc can also all work very effectively.
I would strongly suggest keeping it as simple as possible and perhaps sketching out your preferred layout and/or making up a simple test kicker to ensure everything is OK and the system is appropriate for all conditions.
I was lucky that I has a spare laser XD kicker available for the Moth when I discarded the cats cradle that was my previous kicker layout.

Thanks to everyone for their help and encouragement, particularly Roger. I've got all the bits now and a cunning plan so I hope to fit, test & tune tomorrow.
Cheers Paul

Hi We all keep telling Bill how great he is for getting this site up and running so now it's here if you are just browsing log in and say hi. Only a few of us bite! so don't be shy. It would be really great if you could send in some pictures of Moths sailing at your clubs or anywhere else. Also pictures of the people who sail them. Thanks New Boy

Bill,
How do you do the hyperlinks attached to a word rather than just having the web address?

You use the URL tags as follows: [url=http://<www-address>]<description-of-link>[/url]For example: [url=http://www.britishmoth.co.uk]BMBA Website[/url]Looks like this when posted: BMBA Website

Hi All My boat is a little unwell and in need of lots of TLC. Along with many other things I have broken the Rudder stock and I would like to replace it with an Aluminum stock. Could anyone recommend one for poor old Painted Lady. Rob sorry she really in not well also broke rudder bent mast and top of the center board case has split. She will be good as new soon as mast on order and rest will be soon. New Boy

Mark what have you been doing to her you must treat her with care and give her the TLC she requires! Regarding rudder stocks take a look at a CeeVee stock available I think from P&B / Speed etc.. Suspect Mr Pope would be able to help.. Or as I think they are legal I would go for a winder carbon rudder stock, think the same size a national 12 would fit onto a moth.. again try P&B or winder boat directly. Rob

Wednesday 17th Sept is the last Wednesday racing of the Season. Not sure how many Moths will be there ....should be able to get 6 or 7 out I suspect. Jeremy,"Wild Bill",Tony,Andy-Pandy,Lurg,Laura and Georgia or myself seem likely. We have missed you too .... have had time to re-stock all the bits needed to keep "Painted Lady" going.

Will do my best to be there, it being the last one and all. Odds are I'll be too late to make the start line, and will be sailing ONONO as Atlantic is still awaiting the reinstallment of her centreboard, but I shall try to show my face anyway See you tomorrow with luck. And welcome back!

Hi Nearly time for another master class from Roger at Frampton. I am sure the rest of the Moth fleet has seen the new improved Frampton fleet while on their travels. I will be there trying to get some speed out of this M7 mast and hope to see as many others as possible. It's worth coming just for the bacon rolls!! So who is going to come out to play? Just worried if lots turn up without warning that there won't be enough Bacon rolls for me! New Boy
