Having BM799 based at my club has generated a lot of interest in Moths. Please keep me in mind and let me know if you hear of a Moth coming onto the market or have one which you might want to sell (even if it needs a bit of TLC) - I would love to get a small fleet going at BLYM. Many thanks, Gavin

Hi Gavin, I have BM405 and have just made the difficult decision to sell her. 2 sails, launching trolley, new mainsheet, blocks and control lines. Good condition for age. A good home more important than price, but was thinking around £200. Based at Alton Water Sailing Club, Suffolk. Let me know if that is of any interest and I can e-mail more details and photos, regards, Mark.

Hi Gavin, I have tried but for some reason the 'habsboys' administration or firewall won't let me send photos to you - do you have a different e-mail address I could try? Mark.

Gavin - we have a reasonable Skinner available at Broxbourne. If you send me some contact details I'll put you in touch with the owner (Ashley).

British Moth 730 "Moneybox" is reluctantly for sale. The boat was refurbished a couple of years ago by well respected boat builder Tony Thresher and is therefore in very good condition.
Hull is completely sound with no rot with new slot gasket fitted 2 months ago by Brian Skinner.
The rig has a bendy mast (I do not know the make) with lowers, controls lead back to helm, and centre main with ratchet main block. All sheets were fitted this year.
Sail is an R&J which is in good condition plus spare older sail and spare boom.
Comes with launching trolley with new wheels.
Moneybox was sailed to 5th place at the 2007 Nationals so it is no slouch.
I am looking for £650 for this "ready to sail" boat.
OGF 01603 714840
Now looking for £500 o.v.n.o
Forget to mention boat has tatty boom up cover and good undercover.
Really would like to sell before winter sets in as I now have lost indoor storage

Anyone looking for a winter project? BM 786 Skinner decks are stripped, hull needs stripping and painting. complete with old trolley and trailer, c/board, rudder, two masts and two booms, loads of rigging. My back problems are not going away, regretfully I will not be able to refurb 786, shame she will be a pretty boat when done. she has been dry stored in garage since beginning of the year. Free to collector. Jeff 07885659798
I also have eposeal, undercoat and topcoat.
NOW GONE TO GOOD HOME, WATCH OUT IT WILL BE ON THE CIRCUIT NEXT YEAR

If anyone want to pursue it, Flutterby is sitting under the trees at Desborough SC half full of rainwater. Has porous boom-up cover but she is basically fine if rescued NOW, before the bad weather takes its toll.

Hi, So a plea for urgent Moth rescue followed by total silence, always happy to help out a distressed dinghy but a little follow up communication would be to say the very least, polite. T2

I'm sorry I don't check on the BM forum constantly, especially being away over the holiday period. I was down there in early December collecting another boat and chanced upon her.
You need to contact a guy called Ross Archer @virgin.net who is Rear Commodore at DSC, who now informs me she has an owner who is "away", but no more. I suggest persistence on your part if you are keen. As for pictures, she is Flutterby and looks as she always did. One of 6 Plycrafts built.
I'll be back down there in 3/4 weeks and will ask again then. I'll also bail her out if need be! Godfrey

Hi, Been there and done that, the owner is living in Hong Kong and the boat looks like it has suffered through every day of the 5 years that he has been away. It might maybe be possible to save it, but at least partial re-decking will be required. I left my contact details with them a fortnight ago but no reply yet. T2
