Took a decision not to try and run a mini-ebay on the website by posting for sale notices onto it directly. Even if I had the time to keep something like that current, if I got run over by a bus, or bought a laser, or otherwise became catastrophically distracted, it would only become moribund and out of date. Again. Which looks bad for the Class as a whole.
So.
The "To Buy" page on the website will only feature static items, like contact details for our favourite builders, links to sail makers, etc. Pretty much as it stands at the moment on the preview site.
The dynamic cut and thrust of the second hand market has been promoted to "full user control" and moved to the community forums.
If you have a boat to sell (or bits of one) then put a "For Sale" post on the Buy and Sell Forum. Likewise, if you want to buy a boat (or bits of one!) then put a "Wanted" post in the same place.
We can still post pictures with the For Sale adds as I've done with the ad for Moth 525 that I've posted for Goffo. I'm quite happy to help out with doing this, so don't hesitate to email me, or PM me via the forums or even just put a post on the Forum saying "Bill give us a hand?" as I appreciate not everybody wants to get into the intricacies of how to embed pictures and links into forum posts, etc.
Now, with that out of the way, there are a number of old adverts on the existing webite's For Sale page, which I believe hasn't been updated since the turn of the year. I'm assuming that everything on there is now out of date and redundant unless I'm told otherwise. If any of those boats or bits are still for sale, then if their respective seller's post an add in the new Buy and Sell forum, I'll link any existing pictures in.
Hope all this makes sense? Any questions or comments this is the place to ask. Ultimately I'll digest the relevant bits of the above down into a concise list and post it as a sticky at the top of the Buy and Sell forum.
