Returning to Fowey in 2015 is in advanced stages of the preliminary arrangements... Dates are from Friday 22nd May, Racing on 23rd,24th and 25th May.
Response has been amazing so far, so Thank You to all who have committed or intend joining the pilgrimage to Fowey. At this very early stage we are talking about 14/15 Boats [commits or intents ]!
Fundamentally the event will now incorporate the BRITISH MOTH SEA CHAMPIONSHIPS on May 23rd/24th but with very much the usual Fowey Fun. Racing will likely be in Fowey Harbour[ both Fowey side off of the Town Quay and also on the Polruan side....whether we venture out to sea wil of course be very weather dependant !] Mini-Races,Boat Swaps and a Social Programme. We will be guests of Fowey Gallants S.C.
Full details and a schedule of activities will follow here and in Chrysallis. If you want to find out more or need help or recomendations with Accomodation,Camping etc, speaking Cornish or whatever please get in touch. 8 months may seem a long way off and it is but if you are thinking of joining us I suggest you need to be investigating accomodation soon...Fowey is a small town and is very popular.
Certainly a weekend to put in the Diary....

All Fowey FFFFFive Gang home and safe... Thanks to everyone, Sailing and Non-Sailing,who attended, 6 Lady Sailors not including the 3 who turned up on the Monday evening ! Great sailing as ever despite the difficult conditions for the last Championship Race ....John Burford doing well top get a course in at all. Worst journey down was Ian Widdows...blown tyre on the Caravan at over 9.5 hours and best sub 3 hrs... Longest journey was by the Hunts Brigade ...we were delighted to see them all in Fowey. Bank Holiday traffic kept moving to get us all home. General consensus[despite a certain Car Park Attendant who apparently bit twice !]was a fabulous time was had by all. Wednesday evening Club Racing with 8 Moths out was an experience as we were outside the Harbour in lumpy conditions and had a good thrash around. Thanks are extended to Fowey Gallants S.C.,Royal Fowey Yacht Club,Fowey Harbour Commissioners and countless others as well as Main Sponsors ..North Sails One Design,Rowsell Sails,St Austell Brewery,Stroud Brewery,Healeys Cyder Farm[Rattler],Vinotopia,Pieminister, and of course Kate and Jane Burford Upper Deck Chandlery and Outriggers,Fowey. A few words about John.....FFFFFabulous FFFFFun in true FOWEY spirit ...a Big Thanks from all of us. [Results of the Mini Races and the Sea Championship are in the Results section with a Report and Many Pics to follow]

A brilliant week. Good fun sailing, socialising and trips out. Lots of food, beer, chocolate and ice cream, and not forgetting the cream teas! A big thanks to everyone down in Fowey who help to staff and run the event and a VERY big thank you to Roger for organising the whole thing, the racing, the socialising, the boat and trailer parking, the tee shirts, hoodies etc, the sponsorship, the kids entertainment and much more. It wouldn't have happened without him!
See you all next year, believe me it is worth the long drive!
Richard and Sam.
