I guess the last time most of us saw Eric was at the 2005 Nationals at Northampton SC. He had come up with Andy Osman – they were both at Parkstone SC at the time. Eric, along with John Schilling, restarted Moth sailing at Desborough in the immediate aftermath of the Second World War. He raced No.2 Sabre for many years and I think there is a glimpse of him on the Pathé news real of the 1957 Regatta at the Welsh Harp.
Eric had the wiry look of the hardened sailor that made him seem much younger than his years. It is sad to hear that he was brought low by cancer, we shall miss him.

Sad news indeed ....Eric was a true gent and a very good moth sailor. My thoughts are with his nearest & dearest.
