Mark, yes we (and the apes) can arrive on Tuesday. I will find the info (have put it in a safe place) but they are expecting some of us Tuesday. If there isn't catering Tuesday night there is good fish & chips etc and pubs in the village. Wednesday night we are catered for, Thursday there is 'tea' before the AGM - afterwards we were being offered a room in the local pub, which we have declined so that numbers/orders ahead are not required, but the pub is aware that we will be about, Friday's dinner menu sounds wow. So you may have to fend for yourself Tuesday/Thursday but will get back on here with the details. Abby PS Graham promises he will be arriving with Lapwing and a barrel of beer - so I will be fussing with bits of string too.

Good evening Abby, I will be at the club from around 15:30, the bar will be open around 6. We have a BBQ at the club which you are all welcome to use. Alternatively, there is a chip shop in Melbourne, ( 1mile ) or the Indian slightly closer. I have cancelled the pub for the Thursday, if people did want to have a small group then I am sure they would accommodate. Regards Nigel Three cheers for Staunton Herald who are working hard to welcome us. Abby

If it is a barrel of beer that Graham is bringing we will have a lot of serious drinking to do! 36 gallons 288 pints with the forecast of thirty helms that isabout 9 pints each, quite an incentive to enter so let's be having your entry forms and cheques Ian E

BEER LOVERS Weights and Measures I will be bringing a barrel of beer which is known as a Firkin and holds 72 pints and as a Micro this is the largest we have and can lift ,just,at around 45kg coincidentaly the weight , of Abbys new moth which will make up the load with Gromit. The beer will require settling and ready for Friday night, and as agreed with the club it will be for sale at £1.00 a pint to cover the clubs profit and handling and is supplied free of charge by Popes Brewing Company to support the event. For conosors of beer I am not sure yet which brew it will be. Regards Graham
