Last year New Boy started a good thread asking 'are you ready?'
I thought it was so good that it was worth asking again! So who is ready? What go faster mods or repairs have you been making over the winter? Ive already heard talk of new sails and boats and go faster rigging!

I am fitting a jockey wheel to my launching trolley, so I should be much faster around the dinghy park!

Does that mean I can't call mine my girly wheel any more? The wheels are great, but it does mean that the trolley can go very fast down the 'slipway'.

Theres a lot to be said for going faster in the dinghy park. First to the bar and all that! Or at some sailing clubs first to the showers before all of the hot water is used pays dividends!

I'm working on a system for fast-adjustable toe-straps. Being a sailor of hiking boats all my life, I like throwing my backside over the side of the boat but as I have a MASSIVE centreboard case, I need really loose toe-straps in my boat upwind in strong winds. This is useless in light-medium winds and not too helpful down-wind as you can't 'lock' yourself in. I'm putting in a floating cleat system on the aft end of the toe-straps to quickly yank those straps tight when needed.

A carbon thing on your carbon thing!?!?
I can sympathise with wanting adjustable toestraps. I used to have one on my coughlasercough. Certainly helpful.

New Boy is on it again....keen as mustard and ready to go and crash into something or someone ! He has been keen since November .... Both his boats are ready to get trashed again...I have only let him have ASBO to start the season and will look after Painted lady at Frampton...she is a little more sensitive and needs to be loved a little more now that she is back from being loaned to Biggles. He will be at Whitefriars and Frampton showing off his new 2013 Primark ensemble ...sparkly lycra leggings, new boots and new lifejacket i....n his Burger Van come Team HQ His other vehicle ...Hairdresser,s must have Mini Convertible in Fire Engine Red [What else !] hasn,t got a tow hitch so its the Team Bongo. Never met anyone so keen and what,s more he seems to have infused Biggles. They are both Bonkers...
...but its great to have them in the Class.

While I am on here Jonathan...re Your FAST adjustable Toe-Straps. Nothing in or about a Moth is fast or usually needs to be fast. Good that you are sorting your Toe-straps out and I am sure all will be fine. Better than adjustable Toe-straps could be to eat more pies and don,t bother to sit out..job done ! Hope to meet up with you again this season...you have got the right spirit. ...Make an appointment with your Doctor immediately and get it seen to !

I was impressed by the dedication of a carbon burgee. That was quickly replaced by an image of New Boy stepping out of his Bongo in his sparkly leggings and new gear in a scene I imagine is more akin to a Duran Duran video!
Entusiastic since November!? That is keen. I've got to say that i'm excited to get back on the water (its been nearly 5 months I think....) Far too long.
Roll on the new season....

I am so keen I have worked out the average wind speed wor race weekends and adjusted my weight to fit what will be a windy year. Short version I have eaten all the pies and wont need special foot straps as will be sat firmly on the side of ASBO. That said I believe we will be having lighter winds for the nationals so will slim down for that. My new kit matches ASBO and the mini in fire engine red and Black. Aa for the Carbon Burgee it meant I could have one more pie. New Boy

I've lost 12 lb since Christmas and the Streakers have just had their PY adjusted down by 9, the combination of the 2 may just help me back into the trophy positions on a Wednesday night at Ripon.
Just got to strip and varnish the deck before April now!

Just collected my new HD sail. I have to say I think this is the first time that anything "boaty" I have bought has actually been ready on time! I haven't put the new sail on a mast yet but will be taking it to Whitefriars next weekend and trying it out, it does look good which is obviously very important.

Actually I have just remembered, my carbon mast and boom from Aardspars was ready on time and I am very pleased with it.
