I have reluctantly come to a decision regarding sailing and decided it’s time to hang up my life jacket. This has been a really difficult one that I’ve been putting off for far too long.
Sadly, it also means I’m going to have to part company with my beloved Lilac, so if anyone’s interested please contact me.
Details below:
British Moth; 757 ‘Lilac Beauty’ (Apeira Syringaria if you prefer!)
Professionally built by Plycraft in 1980, still fast, competitive and down to weight.
1999 National Championship Winner
(plus numerous Opens and Club Events).
Good R&J Mylar sail (used at 2006 Nationals, three opens, one season club racing)
Dual controls - all ball bearing blocks
Half track centre mainsheet, Holt Autoratchet (replaced last year).
Dog-Leg Centre Board - Hogan design, made by Basset Boatcraft.
CeeVee Rudder stock – Basset Blade.
Plus original Plycraft board.
Proctor 'C' mast with adjustable spreaders, wire halyard & lowers
Needlespar super-light boom (0.6kg /m) Outhaul running in BB Block on inset stainless steel rod.
Bespoke Top trailing cover (Hogan Design & Manufacture)
Standard bottom cover.
West Mersea Combination trailer (one of the few made specifically for the BM!) with integrated lighting.

Offers around £1500 please, no time wasters!
Can split as below:
1) Lilac, foils, spars, covers + ‘2nd' sail (1 Nats, 3 opens, 1
complete club season, so still good to go!) Offers IRO £1200
2) West Mersea Combi trailer. Small base/ BM Launch Trolley.
Will sell on eBay ONLY after Lilac's been sold.
