FOR SALE: 827 (Nutmeg) £1,400.
827 is a JEP/Clarke GRP Epoxy foam sandwich hull in light blue with FRP deck and cockpit in white non-slip cockpit floor.
It is a light boat, fast in the right hands and occasionally quick in mine.
It has a professional (Brett Dingwall Boat Builder) mast step internal strengthening (with invoice).
The hull and deck are in immaculate condition, apart from one small chip on the top of the centreboard casing.
It has a R&J dacron sail, open meeting spec with window, GRP battens and long sailbag. The sail is in very good condition.
It also has white epoxy painted foils, aluminium alloy rudder stock with removable tiller/tiller extension, a superspars MI mast fitted with spreaders and adjustable lowers, Falker racing burgee and low-stretch halyard (new a year ago). There is also a Superspars Boom with internal outhaul system, chafe plates and boom-end deck protector.
Also new a year ago are the shrouds/forestay and rigging adjusters on both shrouds; multi-purchase kicker system with new control lines; Cunningham and outhaul control lines.
All control lines lead through low friction blocks to Cam-Cleats reconditioned 12 months ago.
There are low friction blocks on the centre-main system, 12 month-old mainsheet, toestraps with adjustment at rear cockpit dead-eye.
There is a year-old Banks PVC nylon flat mast-up cover for use in the boat park and for towing/storage with mast down.
Nutmeg's rigging is unchanged from when I bought her, she's easy to use and has very functional controls.
The trolley is included, but there is no trailer (delivery can be discussed if necessary).
History.
Having been displayed at the Alexandra Palace boat show in March 1996, 827 was sailed from new at Broxbourne SC and very well looked after for 12 years. It was then owned by Roger Witts's family at Frampton SC for 12 months, during which time the rigging was refurbished as detailed above, before I bought it in September 2009 as the third owner.
It's now lying at Shropshire SC (15 miles north of Shrewsbury). I am selling with regret, but I want to split my 'sailing money' between an old Moth and an old cruiser to get the rest of the family sailing.
There's also a photo of her on the water at
www.britishmoth.co.uk/gallery_0910_frampton/default.html
but I'm embarrassed by the trailing painter every time I see it.
I can happily email several other photos direct, but I'm having trouble uploading them on this post.
Feel free to email, or call on 07808 479964.
Thanks for looking,
Paul Dutton
