Hello everyone. I've inherited a boat which I think might be a Moth and I'd be very grateful to know how to confirm that. The sail has M and 264 on it and the hull is wooden. I can't find any number on the hull, just a small plaque with "Bossoms boatyard" on. Someone I spoke to suggested it might be a Europa Moth. I'm not at all knowledgeable about boats so I would appreciate any help please. I have taken photos if that is useful. Thanks for reading.

hi Suzanne. Sounds to me like like it probably is. If the bow is round, and not pointy, then i’d say it definitely is. Have you checked here to compare: britishmoth.co.uk/Or there’s also lots of pics of BMs on flickr

Meant to say, there is a British Moth Facebook page, and also an International Moth Lowrider Facebook page, where you might get help too.

Hi Suzanne, British Moth 264 was made by Bossoms Boatyard in Oxford. In 1990 it was named "Sinbad" and in 1990 was owned by Mr.H. Gill of Staines Sailing Club.
Bit late response but only just seen the post.
