Renovation is progressing slowly.
I was looking at the plastic hatch covers that I have (marked RWO-202 and RWO-203). The plastic on these seems to have become dry and flaky underneath the areas where the varnish has got on them.
Is this a major problem? Can I just clean them up?

Provided they have not gone brittle or cracked they should be OK....in which case use more Silicone sealant on the sealing face. Usually if the plastic fades, looses its gloss or goes powdery or falky then it has seen a lot of UV and probably should be replaced.
If they look manky why not treat yourself to some new ones and smarten up your Moth ! RWO make good Hatch Covers but Allen have some modern looking new ones out at about the same price.
