Thanks for lightening things up a bit, Can I grab a lift? John was keen to get them measured and I would like to dicuss the deep cockpit idea. Regards Graham

The continuing Good News from John Claridge is that the new Self-Drainer was indeed launched as scheduled.Sailed by John himself before being handed over for "real" trials by the Salterns Juniors. All apparently went very well especially in a capsize test where she did not float as high as "normal" due to the narrower side decks and when righted emptied nicely and quickly thro the Transom drainage and C/Board slot. She is "sturdy girl" and is equipped with a Rubber bumper-style Gunwhale and as a result is a little heavy but ideal for the arduous duty ahead of her ! The 5 other Salterns Moths planned will be also similarily constructed but a down to weight all-out racing Moth is on the list to be built. All boats being produced from the same former/mould as "Asbo" and "Same Same". We will be seeing and maybe sailing the boat really soon so will keep you posted and will as mentioned previously be posting some pics with J.C.s permission.
