The forecast has changed dramatically for this coming Sunday with the mean winds being force 5 with gusts up to 40 miles an hour. I have had a chat with Colin Hall and in light of this forecast feel that it prudent we cancel the event. We would hate you to travel all the way to Earlswood for you then to wimp out when you saw the conditions. At the same time we would hate to prepare all the support and catering to have people decide once they checked the forecast late on Saturday or early Sunday to decide not to travel. Trust you understand the decision and if you are aware of anyone that was intending to join us at Earlswood please advise them. SORRY! Ian

You could almost have guaranteed that having made a decision to cancel the open at Earlswood due to an adverse weather forecast that things would change and so it has come to pass. I am sitting here with egg on my face having possibly panicked rather than waited possibly half a day more. I am really sorry but felt that it was important not to waste your time or the clubs resources. I trust you all understand the position I was in. Thanks for your understanding. See you at Northampton Ian

Totally predictable in a kind if British weather unpredictable way, I don't think anyone would blame you for the decision Ian, better safe than sorry & after last years epic gale I'm not surprised at your decision.
