Hi all,
There has been a little about this on the Open meetings thread, but I thought I'd better start a new thread for it.
Starting with the important stuff... Lunch!
We will need to have a good idea of numbers for each day, so we can work out how much lunch to buy - we would hate to run out!
Lunch will be included in the entry fee, and you'll be given a token when you sign on to hand over at the counter. These tokens are then collected behind the counter, and then the club will charge me Nx£ at the end of it all...just thought you might like to know how it all works, and why you need to remember the token!
I'm not sure what the BM plans are for coaching, but I will divide the lake between Moths and Lightnings to suit.
Abby is planning a BBQ for the evening, and I suspect the Lightnings will follow suit. I will ensure there is beer on site!
Camping - the field isn't under water currently, but I can't guarantee what state it will be in. We now have a marquee up, so the brave may be able to set themselves up in there! Plenty of room for campervans.
Sunday - Open meeting, 3 races, starting 5 mins after Lightnings, and there will be some club boats too, who will have been read the riot act! 1st start 11.00 for the 1st fleet. All will be made clear at the briefing.
Looking forward to seeing lots of you! Any questions, please ask - I'll try and remember to pop on here regularly!

Hi Richard,
The Lightnings plan to be rigged, changed and ready to start at 11.00. I don't know if the Moth plans are different to that, but I'd have thought they would be similar. If you arrive early, there is nothing to stop you from getting out on the water to shake the kinks out before coaching officially begins. I'll be there from 9am, and there will be safety cover from 10, I'd think.

I'll be there both days too and my missus is coming with me (but not sailing).
It might be my first sail in a moth for about 6 months or more!
Cheers Paul

We are trying to stick to the the same sorts of timing as the Lightnings so rigged etc for 11:00.
We will be running another informal discussion evening again as it seemed to work well last year. This will happen probably about 17:00 and Colin will chair while I make burgers etc. Topics for discussion are:-
1. Dinghy Show debrief. 2. General talk about the constitution 3. Sails - the necessity for proper numbers on sails, how many sails (one at a time of course) one can use at any Open/Nationals etc. The sails declared on boat certificates. 4. Fixtures 2014/2015 - The 2015 Nationals are booked for Staunton Herald - is this ok with those attending 5. Any other topics....please let Colin know.
If you are staying for this and would like to join in the BBQ - abby-burgers (and a veggie option!), salad, crisps, cakes (by donation). Cost is about £3.00 by donation on the day - BUT PLEASE I need to know number of people and how many delicious burgers you think you wish to scoff.
Thanks Abby

Just read the training schedule - looks great. Unfortunately I will not be able to make it as I am on a Duke of Edinburgh Award Expedition training weekend. Have fun

I suspect I will need to be there both days (otherwise I'll end up getting lynched at some point in the future).
I am finally getting time to do some prep for the training. As stated above, plan to be ready for 11 AM Saturday.
For those attending the training, can you please do 2 things;
1) refer to the galleries of the 2013 nationals and post links in here to pictures of yourselves sailing (so I can give commentary on what I see in terms of good / bad in the pictures)
2) post a list of topics you would like to see covered in the training. I'll then plan the agenda to try an best match a consensus of wants / needs.
I also need to know if anyone will be able to provide assistance with organizing / running - especially for any on the water activities. If I am coordinating etc. I'll need someone who's handy with a video camera. Other spare pairs of hands may also come in handy.
Thanks,
Toby.

Won't be staying in the evening as having food & wine in Cirencester. Cheers Paul

Thx.
