Hi
We hope the travellers will turn out in force for these 2 Opens. First up is the Cam Coffee Pot - Cam, at Waterbeach, Cambridge on Saturday 21 June. Entry £5.00 BRING YOUR OWN PACK LUNCH but tea coffee and cakes are available at this beautiful Club. Briefing at 11.00 and first race at 11.30 with 2 more in the afternoon. This is a an old school River Club , winding reaches through the Fens. Sadly Gary's sister has arranged a family party and I am unable to defend my one and only win.
Sunday we move on to Hunts, site of the Nationals a few years back and now home to the Moths of - Colin Hall, Richard Keefe, Ted Deacon (who will climb out of Vago/RS300 for the weekend) Gary and myself. Club racing starts at 11.30 and we will have our own start somewhere about then. The club has a staffed galley so rolls, soup etc are available.
So, we have all been West this year - who is coming East?
Cheers Abby

I'm planning on going to Hunts (hangover permitting, I'm at a hen night the night before) but can't do Cam.

I am thinking of coming to either or both - is there any chance of camping at either club on the Saturday night?

Jonathan, I will double check with Cam but they have allowed it in the past - and it is a beautiful place, (although last year the lawn was under the River). Also, Gary has altered the number on a sail for you - which we will hand over at Hunts. Not as good as the one you borrowed from Mark but hopefully a step up from the one you have.

No problem. We will let Jonathan know where tents have to be pitched on the 22nd. We do have a designated camping lawn. Fine for any others too, - and no problem if others even decide to put up tents for overnight on 'the day'! Best wishes Lorna

Brilliant, thanks. We'll have two (lightweight) tents as there is a certain amount of bribery going on to let me come to both events, mostly around taking Neha and her sister to Cambridge to shop while I am sailing...
As for the sail - I'll buy you a drink for every place it improves me across the weekend. That should stop you sabotaging it too much...

Hi Jonathan,
I am not sure what the weather is going to be like Saturday night, but if you don't fancy camping you and Neha can crash at our house (Haverhill).

Jonathan, Waterbeach Train Station is literally right down the road - public footpath, maybe 3 mins, they can catch the train in (or out) and be independent - it's maybe a 10min journey! Abby

Race Reports will go up soon but suffice to say that it was complete carnage out there - fun, but OTT in the wind department. More than Whitefriars, which was 'ok' today at Hunts but I gather was madness on the Cam. Toby had a clean sweep both days. More anon.

Check out picture 086 from teds link. A rare picture of Toby in a little trouble. After a trip towards the far bank See 087, Toby recovers well, 087 and heads off to win the race. New Boy nearly got a picture of you going for a swim Toby. New Boy
