Our next Open Meeting is at STAUNTON HAROLD S.C. [Nr Melbourne,Derbyshire]. A brand new venue for us at this very welcoming and accomodating Club. I am confident that all will enjoy both the Sailing and the facilities at the Club on this attractive stretch of water. S.H.S.C. are being considered as a future Nationals venue so this is an ideal opportunity to get familiar with the Lake and the Club itself. Not forgetting the EGM after racing has finished. With our last two events unfortunately having to be cancelled a good turnout is a must !

Gary and I will be coming up. We are hoping to travel on Friday and I have emailed SHSC to see if we can camp - but haven't had a reply yet? Does anyone know if we can?

Good News for early arrivals at Staunton Harold S.C. Camping is available on the Friday Evening....even better News is that the Bar will be open until late ! Someone will definitely be at the Club from 7.00 p.m. at the latest. I cannot advise if anyone will be able to get in prior to this time. If you intend camping please contact Richard Pepperdine on 07732 364871.
As for the races schedule...racing will be on the Saturday[June 9th only] and the EGM will be held after.

Thanks Roger - see all of you at the bar! Toby, we have a couple of borrowed Moths for the summer and a sail that although it is about 15 years old is hardly used. I will check with Gary, but you can probably borrow it. It's an R&J. Abby

I shall be heading DOWN to Staunton Harold next weekend. Traveling there and back on Saturday as G**gle says it is about 2 hours from me so relatively close!
Hopefully I won't have similar issues to Mid Warwickshire with motorways being closed for the hour I wanted to be on it giving me a 2 hour delay.
A short EGM hopefully?
Cheers Paul

Access into SHSC should be OK from about 4.30/5.00 p.m.on Friday afternoon ,possibly earlier. But please do not rely on getting in earlier ...better plan to arrive after 5 p.m. If you are a Friday arrival please make yourself known to Richard Pepperdine. All Moths are welcome to use the water ...rescue boats will be on duty. For early Saturday morning travellers Bacon Sarnies will be available.
....and the Weather. Very Jubilee like.....some showers and a good breeze is forcast.

Thanks to you all for coming to SHSC yesterday, great sailing, great venue, very friendly welcome indeed.. Think we will certainly be going back again next year. Those of you who didn't attend really missed out on a fantastic days sailing.. Good work by Roger Witts who suggested we go to this venue.
