St Edmundsbury is looking forward to welcoming the Moths back to our lake this month. We have a good level of clear water and during the autumn working party the trees that sheltered and played havoc with the wind around Mark 1 have been "pruned"- to ground level.
We welcome early arrivals on Friday afternoon/evening with camping available - please let us know if you will be arriving then. This year supper Friday will be in one of the nearby pubs.
We sail the weekend as two separate Opens, although only one set of results will count towards the Somerville if you sail both days. I have just realised that the Sailing Instructions are not on this computer, but I think the racing starts at 11.00am - so briefing around 10.30.
Saturday's meal at the Club will be (probably) Abby's famous burgers or a veggie option with music as last year - I don't think Roger has been to the Caribbean this year so Rum might be optional. Sunday will also kick off around 11.00 to allow for late arrivals.
Bury St Edmunds is a beautiful place for those who don't wish to sail, with West Stow Country Park (with a great children's play area), Lackford Lakes Bird Reserve and Thetford Forest right on our doorstep. There are excellent B&Bs for those who don't wish to camp, or a Travellodge just up the road. If you need help with accommodation or things for non-sailors to do, please let me know. I know we are a long trip for most of the file but, as the saying goes, we're worth it!
Sailing Instructions to follow - when I find them.
