Roger Good to put put some faces to names at dinghy exhibition. Sadly I will not be ready for Framp's still painting and polishing, then got to fit out. As I told Ian H my first open will probably be MYWC. Ordered new combi from sovereign, just in process of measuring mast to order new sail. Job list just keeps growing!! Hope to see you all on the start line as soon as. Jeff H

...FRAMPTON Time !!!
Good weather will be holding apparently if a few degrees cooler by next weekend. Long term forcast is for 8-10 knots... However it is Tropical Frampton and we will get the best of the weather for sure ! Whitefriars Training session will no doubt have sharpened some so good racing is assured. Legendary Hospitality with sponsored Brewery and others helping out...
All visitors have to wash their Boats and Trolleys down before launching and prior to pack-up.

Plus you will have newcomer to the class John Nixon from Carsington! I'm still hoping on making it but anyone got any diesel? All garages have run out near me and I only have around 60 miles of fuel left in the tank and its around 120miles to Frampton! Will set off early and hopefully find some fuel on route! Chairman Rob

Chairman Rob I have a similar issue, I've got a full tank but it will take me a bit more to get there and back. Hopefully I will find some on the way down as it should be too early for all the lemmings to continue panic buying. See you there. Paul

Fuel is available in the Greater Stroud area....some Town located garages are limiting how much you can have and there are short-ish queues. Our wonderful Government assures us we will not have any problem getting fuel. Guess the Motorway Fuel Stops will the best option....for you long distance Guys.
On the plus side Cider and Beer stocks are high ! Just had to sample[quality control you understand] the "Budding" from one of our Sponsors ....and its perfect ...!!!

Well, the big day is here. The start of a epic year with lots of new faces already joining us. ASBO is sat in the works car park waiting for me to finish a very long night shift. After the whitefriars training weekend I can see that everyone is really up for the open series and I think the 80 year of Moths is going to be very special. Will last years open chump win again or will he regret all the training and tips he has passed on. I predict it being much closer this year. New Boy

Both Sam and I had a great time, nice to be out on the water for the first time this year. Thanks to Steve in the kitchen and Roger etal for organizing the racing etc. Really liked the 3 Horse Shoes as well! One more thank you to RW for picking my new sail up from North Sail.
Looking forward to Mid Warwicks and hopefully I will remember my watch this time.

Thanks to all who made the effort to come to Frampton and brave the possibility and pain of queuing for fuel....plenty was available in the end and nobody had any problems.
Great to meet up again and as Rob has said we are off in this special season. 13 Boats including 2 "Frampton Virgin,s"...John Nixon from Carsington S.C. [1st time in a Moth !] and Paul Thomas-Peter - Ripon S.C. who is getting to know Gloucestershire quite well. Congratulations to Rob Wilder who won the very much sought after "Suspense Trophy" to adorn the Lounge wall in Chez Wilder !
The first two races counted for the Open and Somerville Points, the last a fun Personal H,Cap race was won by Ian Haywood,Paul T-P 2nd and Tony Latham 3rd. The Handicapper [OOD-Brian Kitching being brutal to Wilder and Witts giving them a 10 minute penalty ...they checked in with a 9th and 10th respectively. The Frampton T.O.S.S.A. Trophy appeared and was awarded to Roger Witts...slightly prematurely as the previous winner apparently had trailer reversing issues later I gather !
Full report to follow and on Y&Y Results tomorrow... Special Thanks to New Boy and Steve Kendall who helped out with Breakfast and also to Steve for extending his Galley stint all day....Thanks again Steve.
The evening continued in Frampton style at the "Three Ferrets "after a dent was made in the Sponsors [Stroud Brewery and Impcross,s donations to the proceedings were reduced ].
...What next ...MWYC on Saturday April 14th.
