Roger, would we be able to camp Friday or Saturday night? Not sure I am enthusiastic enough to do it all in one day...

Sounds like it could be a rather full day... camping either night or both can be arranged. Club Championship racing on Sunday so no chance of visitors joining in i'm afraid

Have had a special request that once we have done the Boat stuff and helped some out with their set-ups etc that we feature starting practice before Mini-Racing. Apparently some of our "Stars" have been absolutely hopeless lately so need much needed prcatice.Seems that we will have to get a Junior or two out to show them how to do it !!!
Not yet sure how many Visitors we will have but expect there could be approx 10 boats in total on the water. Newest Moth Fleet MWYC will be with us with 3 Boats,Graham will be with us and may bring a spare boat or two,and our merry band will be out[Tony,"New Boy",Ian.Georgia,Steve etc ].
This is the last Training Day we will be holding at Frampton that will be open to Visitors. Join us if you can it is always good fun ... If you cant join us Chippenham is the next Open on June 11th and then its Whitefriars on June 12th.

Greetings Fellow Floaters... All is set for the Moth Training Day at Tropical Frampton tomorrow - Saturday June 4th.... Sunshine that was on order has turned up a couple of days early and will stick around. Wind too looks to be perfect...not too much, not too little. It can only be Frampton !
What else is on offer ... Help thats the key to the day and fun as well. We should see 10 boats plus on the water. If you cant be bothered to pack your boat up come along and join in we will get you a ride ...you may even learn something or top up your tan.Talking Moths ALL day can be a little boring !
We are starting early-ish[9.00a.m.] ..... well a cup of coffee at least ! If you need to contact me my mobile no is below. Otherwise looking forward to seeing you at Frampton or just enjoy your weekend whatever you are doing but please try to support Chippenham and Whitefriars next weekend !

Also enjoyed the day .. great club, great people..... many thanks for the food, hospitallity and general moth chat.
I learned ...... that my "flying 15" boots slow me down when chasing a capsized moth and .... that insulting a boat while still sailing it is a bad idea ;-)

Fabulous Day at Frampers on 4th June...probably too much wind for some but lots of hot sunshine to help with the drying off ! Ironic that both the oldest and youngest Helms and biggest Helm did not capsize but everyone else did ...some several times. Thanks to all who came we have some interesting video with some hi-speed planing and even higher speed capsizes !Its only in the video playback that one realises just how fast Moths can plane.Toby,s second capsize is a cracker[sorry Toby !]...Toby was helping Ian most of the day trying different settings on "Scruff" and sailed her in the afternoon session. He thought it was the boat not handling well that tipped him in for the second time but the video showed he did catch the wash from a rescue boat when he was travelling really fast, the bow lifted and the boat headed for the stars dumping Toby out ...welcome to Frampton Toby ! Best on show in the morning session was definitely Elaine Laverty for sailing so well in a loaned boat "Atlantic Bonus"and Georgia Honey screaming up and down in "Tabby" [now with Carbon Rig] with spray everywhere and looking very comfortable when most around her were falling over. In the afternoon session James Parker-Mowbray changed boats [to 790]and looked very competent and was quick upwind and was absolutely flying offwind.Sue Turner from MWYC also must be commended for sheer pluck in the conditions and her incredible "boom-walking" manouvre after a capsize. However although these two are more than worthy of a mention it was Pete Lee from MWYC in his "new" Skinner all GRP Boat who impressed. This was really Pete,s first outing in the newly aquired boat [as yet with no sail no and no official name]and after a few tweaks in the Compound at the beginning of the day and a "little encouragement" and help with his upwind technique all seemd to pay off in this session [maybe it was the couple of Beers at the lunch break that did it Pete ?]. He too looked now to be comfortable in what was a steady-ish Force 4-5 but with a few nasty gusts thrown in for added excitement. Thanks once again to Laura for feeding us so well and my helpers in the Rescue Boat and at the Mini-Races.....Toby,Ian,Georgia and Fudge. Roger Witts FRAMPTON MOTHS
