518 is indeed at BLYM and is now owned by my friend Dr Chapman - I think she will be registering her new ownership soon, but is currently very busy buying things for her. There are now two Moths at BLYM, 518 ("Alacrity" I think), and 533 Whippet (my boat, now 90% ready to sail again). After deciding to keep Whippet, I'm really hoping to get a low-cost fleet of Moths going at BLYM, so if anyone has another Moth available for £300 or so within a reasonable distance of BLYM, then please let me know. Best, Gavin Hall

518 was on appolloduck for £250, does anyone know who bought her? That's me that is ! Given her a freshen up with paint and varnish. Now looking for a boom inner end. The one fitted at present has lost one of the ears to take the sail pin. I have a chunk of aluminium to make one with but it will take a lot of carving out (on a small milling machine of course). Unless you could point me in the direction of a supplier. No identifying marks on the boom or mast but the bore of the boom is approx. 2.5 inches and it's black ! Ithangyou.

Hi Simon, well I be blowed (how's that for a sailing forum !). Guess that's got to be Summerleaze then. Had my first sail there on a Sea Bat (Similar rig to a Sunfish) with a sliding seat. Wish I had know what I was doing. Still do and I'm not joking. Then had a go on my pals Minisail (it was a long time ago) and got dumped just off the jetty. As I was soaked and had just read how to get up on the plane I did as said and up it came. Unbelievable. Not never done it since. Went the length of the lake with the rudder beating away like there was a V8 on it. What a sensation. If I can do it once more on the Moth, my life will be complete ! As it nearly is. (Sad emoticon) Would like to pop over when you are about, as even though I took photographs of the tangled rigging before removing for painting I'm not sure what goes where and would like to have a look at a complete rig. SSS ? Seldon Super Spars. Showing my ignorance now. Regards. Rob. P.S. Another questo. I found the name Alacrity under the third coat of Dulux. Would like to replace it on the new coat. How can that be done. I'm thinking of a transfer of some sort.

Rob
I have emailed you my mobile number.
Iam usually down at the club from 9:30am till mid afternoon, We have racing from 10:20 till lunch time. This is on Sundays. Probably the best tiem to catch me would be after racing.
Painted with Dulux! It woud pay to get htat all off and get proper marine paint on.
As for puting the name on the Hull this can be done several ways. HunkaMunka.com can print complete names out for sticking on after painting, but beware make sure the paint is well and truly dried and set. Lettering can be obtained from various ehicle graphics companies, or as I do hand paint teh name on. The latter takes a lot of time and patience. I can show you how I do it if you like.
