Hi Chee. The invitation to come visit us at Frampton still stands, even if as a "local boy" you have decided to defect in a Cirencester direction ;D (though on a serious note, I'm sure you'll love it at South Cerney) There are a couple of Moths potentially available from Frampton at the moment (New Boy's "spare" being one of them I suspect), though plenty of other options as well elsewhere. Your best bet really is to come along and try one out for yourself. Neither of mine are for sale, but you'd be very welcome to take one out just to see how a Moth "fits". ONONO is a nice and stable if somewhat heavy hull, so she'd be gentle on a newbie I'm sure..... Besides, Frampton is a fairly tame lake to fall into. Trust me, done it just a few times myself! Enough depth to force a swim, but not enough to allow an inversion. Easiest way forward is to find a day on a weekend when you might like to visit and see if one or more of us is available to meet you at the lake. Absolutely no strings involved, beyond the vague threat that we might come and return the visit to you down in South Cerney next year when you're settled in

Chee,
If you were attracted by the look of the Moth, wait until you hear one, they really do chuckle when out on the water.

Chee Looks like you maybe busy signing us in at South Cerney! When you fancy a trip down to Frampton just post your intended date here and sure a few of us will meet you there. It will be good for the moth to be seen out on another local lake. And wood shiny bit is what I call it!! Don't tell Roger that though!! New Boy

I've been trying to convince a colleague of mine, who has recently taking up sailing and was thinking about buying a boat, to consider the British Moth. I think he is also about to join South Cerney, so you never know there might even be two Moths there.
Once settled, I'll look forward to inviting you all to South Cerney.
Chee ;D

Chee You settled yet? If you and your friend are looking for Moths then you really should come take a look at the Frampton boats. It would give you an idea of what you like and don't like. We have everything from new to old. Not trying to sell you boats just point you in right direction! We will be having the second indoor winter championships soon and you are welcome to come along to that. We could drag a few boats out to show you. Happy sailing New Boy

My Colleague is thinking about a Solo, still trying to sway his judgement on this So will let you know...I'm still checking out for second hand Moths on the Buy and sell board as well as other sailing sites. Chee "New Boy" is away for the weekend so thought I would reply on his behalf.... You are more than welcome to visit us at Frampton on Nov 22nd or 23rd. Probably the Sunday would be best for most of us. There will be Club Series racing in progress...2 races starting at about 11.00a.m. We would certainly have some Moths to show you including two delightful specimens that are currently for sale.Bring your gear...if the conditions are OK you could be floating in one ! Directions of how to find us are on the Frampton-on-Severn S.C.website. When you get there ask for Mark,Bill or myself or check in the Bar !Please let us know when you can make it . Bring your friend along too .... Roger Witts Frampton Moths

Roger, Thanks! I'll confirm nearer he time, though it will probably be a Sunday rather than the Saturday. My work colleague has decided to go with a Solo. Due to there being a fleet of them as SCSC. Chee ;D

I'll almost certainly be at the club Sunday 23rd. There are two races that day, 1100hrs and 1300hrs, so will be at the club from about 9.30 onwards.

Welcome to the BMBA I hope. From a purely selfless point of view (on the other side of dear old Blighty) pls. join Whitefriars so we can have another British Moth there, and maybe another fleet (Frampton is getting much too big...:>) and then we can go back to having OPen meetings there - and perhaps convince Rupert to get another one and....

Abby, no such thing as too big, me dear ;D Today Frampton, TOMORROW THE WOORRRLLLDDD!!!!
Though on a serious note Chee, looking forward to meeting you on the 23rd at Frampton if you can make it. Don't worry, we really are not trying to recruit you, just give you a taste of what a Moth is like to sail as you've expressed an interest (resistance is futile, you will be assimilated!)
I'm sure you will be more than happy at South Cerney and one more Moth there is just as good as one more Moth anywhere else. Besides which, we're all very much looking forward to visiting you there next year ;D
Though Whitefriars is, to be sure, a lovely club. Only sailed there the once, and then in a Wanderer. But a fine stretch of water. Would love the chance to go back.

Thankyou Abby for welcoming me, even though I don't actually have Moth yet, although I feel like I own one already. Bill, I not worried about being recruited . I have no doubt in my mind that I will be acquiring a Moth, just a question of finding the right one and somehow getting it to my club. I am really excited about the opportunity of inviting everyone next year to SCSC (see I'm talking as if I'm an owner of a Moth ;D)

To the Frampton sailing club, Guys, looks like I'll have to take a rain check until the new year to visit. My wife is doing a charity event over the weekend and I am ending up as the taxi service for my 2 daughters who have birthday parties to attend this weekend (they have such an active social life - wheras mine is practically non-existent . Speak soon! Chee ;D
