« Thread Started on Jun 7, 2008, 9:25pm »

Big thanks to Bill G.We now have excellent site in the making.

DON'T FORGET to make a date for the NATS at Hunts SC from Weds 13th to Sat 16th August. Last year was a bumper turnout, lets keep it rolling.

Camping available on site, good company, and as usual good sailing. More details will follow shortly.

Had me in a slight panic there. Fortunately, the notices on the website(s) are correct. Barry, I've taken the liberty of correcting your post above.

Notices have been sent out for the Nationals at HUNTS S.C.
Time to start a list of the "Runners and Riders"......
Please enter as early as you can ..it helps so much with the planning and organisation.
The entry in our 75th Anniversary Year needs to be topped,so how about it.
Sadly our current National Champion is not defending his title[or is he ?]but the competition will be as tough as ever.Hunts is of course the home club of past Champ Colin Hall.
A "New" boat for Tim Davidson,David Taylor and some new blood in the Class will ensure that the Championships will be closely fought at all levels... thats for sure.
Championships are not just about the racing its a great social event too.
This year we are trying to encourage as many Juniors to enter so if you can,t make it loan a boat to one of your Club,s Juniors and send them East[escorted by an Adult of course].
As the entries come in we will compile a listing with Boat details etc ....
Hope to see you there.

Nationals Yip

Count me in.

I have booked my leave and can hardly wait to battle it out on the water with old and new friends alike. I was a little shy on the start line last year as it was my 1st time but don't expect that to happen again!

I am sure It will be a great event with lots going on, off the water too.

I am so excited, like a blind judge at a best boob competition!

Junior Nationals

We have 2 pretty good Juniors at SESCA who sailed, by invitation, at our Open. One of them, Tim Lupton, is looking forward to coming to Hunts. We will make sure he joins the BMBA, but we also want to make sure he has a good time - so how many Juniors will there be? Cheers Abby & Gary (Ps Tim borrowed Lappet and was beating Gary for a time)

That's great - so we will definitely have the Junior Champion in East Anglia! - Now there's a challenge for the West Country!

If there are enough juniors going, is it too late to have a seperate race so we can share boats or does anyone have a
spare moth Edward or Imogen could borrow?

I'm coming.

Also have a spare junior, but sadly no spare boat, so Ben will just have to cheer his dad from the sidelines :)

Is there any kind hearted soul out there who is coming to the Nationals who has a spare Moth that they could bring along for use by a competent Junior sailor?
If you have please post reply on this thread or let me know.

Is it possible this year at the nationals to run junior races at a different time to senior races to enable us to lend up and coming juniors "sorted" competitive moths ? If we are to attract new blood into the class we should be trying to accommodate youngsters, making it as easy as possible to get their hands on the best equipment ,thus ensuring that they will come again and enjoy the experience.
I propose 3 races 2 to count. thurs/ fri/ sat . am or pm I'm sure we could run this amongst ourselves if Hunts were unable to handle the extra races. weather permitting of course.
We all know how difficult it is to find decent spare Moths and of course the logistics of getting them to the nationals, the new races would allow potentially more than enough boats available .
Any thoughts?
Jeremy
