Please advise what is the system to allocate new sail/boat numbers. The understanding in most Classes was that a number was allocated, and any Royalties collected, when the keel was laid or the build commenced.

There is a "New Boat Registration" section on the Association membership application form, that might have something to do with it. Personally, I'd contact the Class Secretary (Abbey Freeley) directly to enquire. Her email address can be found on the main site's contacts page.

You will recall from the AGM/Chrysalis (for those of you who weren't at the AGM) that:-
Rule 2(a)“Application for registration shall include three names in order of preference, details of hull and deck material and builder, and the registration fee.The Secretary of the Association will furnish a sail number, include the appropriate measurement form and confirm the accepted name (No two boats to bear the same name)”.
The registration fee is £15.00 - cheques payable to the British Moth Boat Association.
We will no longer issue 'blocks' of numbers.
Hope this helps - Abby.
